Skipping this stage is one of the most common causes of flooring failure, and one of the most expensive to fix after the fact. A floor installed over a subfloor with excess moisture can delaminate, bubble, or grow mould within months, long after the installation team has left the site.
Our testing follows recognized industry methods, including calcium chloride and relative humidity testing for moisture content, and a straightedge or laser level check for surface flatness. Where a subfloor fails a test, we don’t proceed until it’s corrected, since installing over a non-compliant surface voids most manufacturer warranties.
Every result is documented and shared with the client and the main contractor before work begins, so there’s a clear record of site conditions at handover and no dispute later about what state the substrate was in.
